Estimating corrosion potential
Description
The device Resipod is used to measure the electrical resistivity of reinforced concrete members. This enables estimation of the corrosion risk of the steel reinforcement.
The Wenner probe is used to measure electrical resistivity or the resistance of the electrolyte. The electrical resistivity is determined by the pore water (electrolyte) where cement type and pore structure affect the resistance significantly. Measurement of the electrolyte resistance of hardened concrete may be performed comparatively or to enable estimation of the potential corrosion risk.
